Yep.  I’m still on the road but I’m still alive.  We are having a small break in my responsibilities at the moment so I thought I’d add a quick post.  At the moment I am near Astoria, OR which is located on the Colombia River that separates the states of Washington and Oregon in the Pacific Northwest.  IT IS B-U-TI-FULL out here!  Not to mention a great break in all the heat on the eastern seaboard.  🙂

On the almost 5-hr plane ride across the country I did just a little journaling.  I watched Joanne Sharpe’s bonus lesson from Week 33 of Lifebook 2015 and decided that it would be the perfect project to keep me busy for a few hours.

The goal was to make some healing/healer cards using a little bit of watercolor and lettering.  I modified it a bit and did the lettered words in my journal with some borders.  I picked a page that already had that “glorious” Pizza Hut sticker on it and just worked around it.  It kind of was the same shape as the other word objects so I figured that spread was as good of a place to start as any.

Next the watercolor.  I used Neocolor II water soluble crayons to create the borders and a water brush to wet and spread them.  Once dry I used a graphite-colored Marks All pencil to create a background around the borders and again used the water brush to wet and spread the color.

I decided that I would make the words all the same color.  I used a regular bright blue Paper Mate brand Flair pen (common at about any drug store, office supply store or general box store), which contains a water-based ink, spread the ink around on a the vinyl pen holder and then used the water brush to pick up the color and sketch the words.  The Flair pen created vibrant words that popped on the page and I was pleased.

Here is a look at my tiny workspace and journal spread.  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
