Didn’t get to do very much art this weekend. However, I was able to work on a spread some yesterday. I recently purchased a set of live workshop videos from the Interweave Store (ClothPaperScissor) and one of them was instructed by Mary Beth Shaw. She is the lady behind StencilGirl Products and she has some GREAT stencils available along with the info blog that she posts to here. I love all the information on creative ways to use the stencils that I have and if you of a particular persuasion, like I am–LOL, they also have a monthly stencil club that sends members one 4″x4″, 6″x6″ and 9″x 12″ stencil every month for a set club price. These stencils are unique to stencil club and not available on their website for purchase. No affiliation. I just love her stencils and she is SO SWEET, too! Bonus!
But I digress….In Mary Beth’s portion of the workshop, she demonstrated how to do a loose line across a page and then use different techniques to fill it. My example below is not really the best, but it kind of gives you an idea of what she was demonstrating. In any event, I learned some things and had some fun to boot. Win! All of the stenciling added to this page were done with stencils created by Seth Apter for StencilGirl. Absolutely some of my favorite stencils at the moment.
I want to add some personal journaling and some shadowing and a few other things but it is mostly done. So, here is what I have accomplished thus far and am sharing this morning for My journal Monday:
Again, this is in my larger Strathmore so I photographed it rather than trying to do a combined page scan. I am also posting this on:
If you’d like to participate in My Journal Monday, please click the link text below to take you to the link-up site and add a direct link to your page there. Any media/technique is fine. I hope that you have a great, arty week!
A lovely abstract !
Thanks, Susi!
Nicely done
Thanks, Zena! 🙂
I like your colors and patterns on your pages, Jill! And the loose line across your pages adds a lot of interest! ???
Thank you, Jill! 🙂
You and Jill Kuhn are doing such fun and exciting things! I love this and got several stencils from Stencik Girl but not any of Seth’s but I love them all. This is very cool. I want to see it finished.
Your pages look great and must have been fun to create!
This is my first time joining PPF.
