I have been on vacation with friends in New York City. It was a great trip. I saw lots of great things and I got to do a lot of fun activities. Unfortunately, about the only art projects I worked on was done on the plane ride up.
But I did get to buy some new supplies–more on that at a later date. 🙂
On of my favorite tours was of the new One World Trade Center. This is a view looking toward the north from the One World Observatory on Floor 102–yes, the 102nd floor!
A trip followed to the 9/11 Memorial Museum. It was a sobering reminder of why the new building exists…
There were other trips to some very recognizable landmarks.
And some maybe not so readily recognizable ones to most people…
…and trips to museums like the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art…
…and the Metropolitan Museum of Natural History.
The streets and tall buildings seem to go on forever…
…but the subway could get you there faster…when you could find the right station and get on the correct train going in the correct direction…LOL!!
And sometimes, no matter how hard one might try, you could barely get anywhere despite your best efforts. Times Square was one of those places EVERY afternoon and evening–that I don’t miss!
Fortunately, locals have the serenity and refuge of Central Park to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday city life. It is a fantastic place indeed!
New York City is a great place to visit but it is not my idea of a perfect place to live. I am more of a country girl at heart. I wish I could have brought home all the restaurants with me and some of the shopping…well, and the Broadway shows…and the convenient transportation…and the things to do…and… and…and…
Hopefully I’ll get to go back for another visit sometime soon. If not, it won’t be a trip soon forgotten.
Have a great day!
Wonderful photos, looks like a great trip. Valerie
