Alaya Art is sponsoring 29 Faces in September 2015. Going with a more imaginary feel again today. Also, Kim Dellow over on her blog has a fun thing going called Art It Friday – Show Your Face. I discovered it while browsing some linked blog pages on Julie Fei-Fan Balzer’s regular Friday post Art Journal Everyday post which she usually posts regularly every Friday. I found Paint Party Friday through Kim Dellow’s post. This is a fun group, too! There are some really talented artist doing all sorts of painty things over there. Here are my entry, which is also 29Faces-No. 16.
I’m finally back in the land of the living! I haven’t been feeling well this week and finally had to just get some rest after coming home from work the last several days. I have decided that I am not Super Woman (imagine that!) and sometimes life happens and you just can’t do all the things that you want to get done. So, I will do the best I can to catch up but if it takes me several day to finish my 29 Faces, then so be it. I found I really enjoyed making this one today…and I was starting to lose that feeling when it became more of a “job” than a fun, extracurricular activity. I hope you are feeling your best today and that my sketch makes you smile. 🙂
So pretty! I love the way you are doing highlights in the eyes!
Thank you, Suz! 🙂
Lovely face. I hope you are 100% very soon. Sending healing energy.

Thank you, Nicole. It seems to be slow but steady progress in the healing direction. 🙂
Yes, getting overwhelmed by “shoulds” is not fun. Keep it fun and do what you can. Your lovely face seems to be asking a question with her eyes. So interesting what faces say to us!
Thanks for stopping by, Gloria, and leaving a comment. 🙂
Your sketch did make me smile and your post made me smile even more. I totally hear you about having to take a break sometimes. Just posted about that myself! Glad you are feeling better. Hope you have a good week. 🙂
Thanks, Laney. And now you have made ME smile! 🙂
Glad you are feeling better. Your girl is very pretty. She looks a bit sad to me. I do like the highlights you are putting in the eyes. I know what you mean by the challenge starting to feel like a job. That is why I stopped doing most challenges. So far this one isn’t feeling that way.
Yes, my girls tend to have sadder eyes. Which I find pretty amusing as I consider myself a generally happy and content person! I’m doing something weird with the eye brows or the eyelids that is making them look that way, I think. I need to figure it out change their expressions just a bit. Seems I have the “sad and pensive” look down. Now I need to find a “happy and carefree” expression that I can repeat when warranted. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by, Neena. And thanks also for the kind works and well wishes!
She is lovely.
Thank you, Clare! Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment! 🙂
Beautiful Jill, I love the lights in her eyes. Hope you have been feeling better this week. Thanks for linking up to Show Your Face and for the shout out too. Kx
Thanks for being so faithful to stop by and see all of our posts. That takes a lot of time and effort. I appreciate it VERY much! 🙂 I am finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel and hopefully this illness….yay!
I’ve always wanted purple eyes–but am stuck with green. 😀 Lovely work!
Thank’s, Beth! And thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment. 🙂
