Kim Dellow over on her blog has a fun thing going called Art It Friday – Show Your Face Inspired by {Insert Name Here}. I discovered it while browsing some linked blog pages on Julie Fei-Fan Balzer’s regular Friday post Art Journal Everyday post which she usually posts regularly every Friday. I found Paint Party Friday through Kim Dellow’s post. This is a fun group, too! There are some really talented artist doing all sorts of painty things over there.
The new theme of “Inspired By” is to encourage everyone to try a different style that someone else might exhibit–giving credit of course to the artist of inspiration. 🙂 This week my artist of inspiration is Lee Krek. She is a regular poster to Kim Dellow’s blog on Fridays and I wanted to try a face like hers. Finally back in my own art room this week after what seems like weeks of endless travel, I took my time and enjoyed the process. I can still see pieces of me peeking through in places which kind of amuses me although I really did try to make it as much like one of Lee’s sketches as I could.
I want to get better at sketching portraits so this is a good challenge for me to take to improve that skill. It has been a fun adventure this month trying to mimic the style of some my fellow “Facers” from Kim’s blog postings.
Here is this week’s “face” for my post:
This is great! Hugs, Valerie
Thanks, Valerie! 🙂
She is so cute! I think pieces of you is even better showing through! It makes it uniquely you.
Thanks, Sue!
Totally see Lee’s style but can see where you made this your own – cool!
Thank you, Susana! 🙂
Lovely strong design. Beautiful face.
Thanks for coming by and leaving me a comment, June! 🙂
Great face, with beautiful skin and personality.
Thanks, Wanda. I had some issues trying to get a “good” tint on the skin color but she turned out OK in the end. Maybe the last of the summer tan? 🙂
Also….wanted to say I love the pattern in the fabric of her dress. Nice touch.
Quite a fun and lovely face! Everyone needs a sweater to match their eyes! ♥
Yes, a matching sweater is pretty awesome! LOL Thanks, Dianne!
Lovely job! I really like the way her eyes sparkle! xx
Thanks, Julie! 🙂
Great face!
Thanks, Rita! And thanks for stopping by!
Nice work! And I can see the leekrek influence.
Awesome! Thanks, Laney!
Just fabulous – I love her nose!
Thanks, Susi! I wasn’t too sure about the nose but it seems to work after all. 🙂
Such a wonderful face.
Love and hugs
Maarit
Thank you, Maarit! And thank you for paying me visit. 🙂
I like the way you’ve done the eyes. I keep staring into her eyes. 🙂
Thank you! 🙂

It has been a lot of fun, Ginger. Thanks and thank you for stopping by!
Wonderful Jill! I love your take on Lee’s style! Hope you enjoyed Show Your Face Inspired By! Thanks for linking up to Show Your Face and for the shout out too! Kx
I didn’t know how it would go at first but now that I have participated with a couple of sketches I think it was a wonderful exercise. It really is quite fun to look at someone else’s work to that detail and really study it. I learned a lot! Great idea! 🙂
